Fred Nyanzi
Fred Nyanzi is a seasoned planner with over 17 years of professional urban planning practice in Uganda and Canada.
Fred holds a bachelor’s degree of Urban Planning (MUK), a Postgraduate Diploma of Urban Design (MUK), and Certificate of Project Management from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (Canada).
Fred started his career at Kira Town Council (Uganda) as an Urban Planner in 2003. In 2006, Fred moved to Canada, as a regional planner with the City of Edmonton. In 2008 Fred accepted a position with the Provincial Government of Alberta as a Regional Planner. In 2016 Fred joined Buganda Land Board (Uganda) where he has established a center of excellence in urban renewal, urban design, and housing.
His portfolio at Buganda Land Board includes imagining, developing, and searching for local and international partners to implement urban renewal projects, and affordable housing projects.
The four years at Buganda Land Board have given Fred sufficient grounding on the unique housing program delivery mechanisms in developing countries. Fred has been able to use his international experience to find creative solutions to create and implement major housing projects. Fred has mastered the skill of making land, as well as local and international funding available for major residential and commercial real estate projects.
